Camping was fun!

Well, the fight to get over all the sickness still wages on. But in the midst of it, we took Zoe on her first overnight camping trip and had a blast! I must say I had some misgivings at first.

With a 10-month old that isn’t sleeping well at night, I figured there was a good chance we’d make enemies of nearby campers. However, with freight trains running by at all hours of the night, but original fears quickly subsided.

Larabee State Park was a decent campground up near Bellingham. One downside though was that the site was mostly covered in relatively sharp rocks. Not good for a crawling Zoe and even the dog was pretty tender-footed by the time we were done.

Zoe seemed to really like hanging out in a tent. I think maybe a house closer to her size was a neat experience. And she LOVED the air mattress we slept on. I’m pretty sure she could have spent all 3 days just jumping around on that thing. (Next time we have access to one of those bouncy houses, I’m thinking she’ll need to take it for a spin).

Back at home now, she is moving around like crazy. Believe it or not she’s just recently started to crawl on her KNEES instead of that hands & feet bear crawl she’s been doing for awhile.

She’s babbling more and more and in a more conversational tone, which is pretty cool and engaging with things around her… like kissing and hugging her teddy bear, and every once in awhile even daddy gets a little love. :)

Sleep? Well… that’s still a work in progress.
